Computer and Network Services - ResNET

RESNET INTERNET SIGN ON

Computer Registration

To improve service to our students, the University of Cincinnati Information Technologies (UCit) has introduced “ResNet Sign On”, a web application which will allow you to quickly and easily register your computer to access the UC Network and the Internet.

Once you have registered via ResNet Sign On, you will be able to access the web and e-mail services from your residence hall. You will need to register each computer with browser capabilities. Your computer must have TCP/IP set to DHCP. For all other devices (XBox, PlayStation, etc.), please contact the HelpDesk @ 556-Help.

The ResNet Sign On process is as follows:

  • First, you will identify yourself as a student of the University of Cincinnati by logging into the UC Central Login screen with your 6+2 and Central Login password.
  • Once you have been identified as a current student, you will be required to read and accept policies regarding usage of University computer resources.
  • Upon acceptance of these policies, you will provide your campus location, phone number and e-mail address to complete the registration.
  • WINDOWS computers: You will then be directed to a page where you will download and install the Cisco Clean Access Agent onto your computer. Once installed, you will be able to sign on to the UC network. Non-WINDOWS computers (MAC, Linux): You will sign on to the UC network via your internet browser.
  • If specific vulnerabilities are detected by the Clean Access Agent, instructions will be provided to patch those.

If you have trouble with ResNet Sign On, contact the UCit Helpdesk at 556-HELP, Monday - Friday: 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. or Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
